I love listening to cartoon music while I draw.
Some of the tunes I listen to are the Peanuts soundtracks by the Vince Guaraldi Trio,
from the CD, "Hanna-Barbera Classics, Vol. 1," and a CD full of KPM stock music that they used on the Ren and Stimpy show.
But then there's also music that just sounds cartoony.
Like Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli at the Hot Club,
or THIS album by cartoon-music composer Raymond Scott:
I'm Learning To Share!: Raymond Scott And His Orchestra, 1944, with vocals by Dorothy Collins
It's a whole album full of peppy big-band swing, and since they're old out-of-print recordings, the whole thing is a FREE download at this terrific blog I tripped over a few days back. Tons of fun stuff including cartoon and comics oriented oddball items and lots of old-timey music! A highly-recommended spot to poke around in. Have fun!
