Biggest Dogs, Smallest Dogs!
SMALLEST
"Danka", a long-haired Chihuahua from Revuca, Slovakia, weighed in at just 27 oz (7.4" long). Danka is very small even for a Chihuahua! "Danka who isn't that keen on dog food only eats a small amount of dry food crushed up", Owner Kvetko said.
BIGGEST (LIVING)
"Hercules", an English Mastiff with a 38" neck, is the current record holder at 282 lbs. His guardian John Flynn (who ain't so shabby himself at 270 lbs) says he once saw a bird roosting on Hercules' head. Hercules just sat there blinking, says Mr. Flynn. "He's not the smartest dog in the world, that's for sure."
Biggest - English Mastiff Hercules
SHORTEST
Brandy", a Chihuahua from Florida, weighs 2 oz more than Danka but measures only 6" from the tip of her nose to the end of her tail. Now there's a dog who has a good reason to be afraid of the vacuum cleaner.
Shortest Chihuahua Brandy
BIGGEST (EVER)
In 1989, an English Mastiff named "Zorba" tipped the scales—or should I say demolished the scales—at a whopping 343 lbs at the age of 8.
An English Mastiff
TALLEST
Try telling a 7 ft tall dog not to drool on the dinner table. "Gibson", a Harlequin Great Dane from Grass Valley, California, is 42.2 inches when standing on all fours, and when he's on his hind legs he's positively stratospheric. This dog is so tall he has to bend down to howl at the moon. He's so tall he doesn't drink out of the toilet; he drinks from the bidet. He's so tall he doesn't understand "heel". You have to say, "Skull!" He's so tall... ok I'll stop now
Tallest Great Dane - Gibson
LARGEST
"Moose" weighed in at 286 lbs when he was named "largest dog in America" on Live with Regis & Kelly in Nov 2001. Moose's guardian Donna Vazquez considers that to be a low estimate because his butt wouldn't fit entirely on the scale.
Bert and Harry Piel Live Again! Long-Lost 1950's UPA Cartoon Commercials Resurface
The awesome ASIFA-Hollywood Animation Archive has started to transfer and share some of the most important (and long-hidden) animation of the modern age: The famous UPA commercials starring the Piels Brothers and their beer!
click on the picture of Bert and Harry to jump to the downloads!
At the ASIFA-Hollywood Animation Archive post you can download and watch a super-high-quality QuickTime movie featuring well OVER 7 minutes of long-lost cartoon footage from these incredibly influential animated spots. They look very simple, but UPA's Bert and Harry Piel cartoon commercials really broke new ground and set the stage for a whole new era of "modern" cartoons.
...and according to Steve @ ASIFA, this is just the first HINT of the treasures recently uncovered there!
from Wikipedia: In the 1950s, the Piels brewery had a very successful television and radio campaign when the Young & Rubicam ad agency created Bert and Harry Piel, the fictitious animated owners and pitchmen for the brewery. Voices were provided by the comedians Bob and Ray. Harry (Bob Elliott) was tall and soft-spoken, always calming down the short loudmouth Bert (Ray Goulding) when something went wrong. The first Bert and Harry commercials aired December 1955 and ran until 1960.

World's Most Strangest Underground Smuggler's Tunnel
Gaza's markets are seriously lacking in merchandise due to strict Israeli restrictions on what the country may and may not import. Goods are dropped into and received from the underground network via elaborate pulley systems.
They are then carried down the length of the 1,000 metre tunnels. The network operators have the ability to handle all sorts of products including fuel, computers and clothes.
Underground livestock smuggling has increased dramatically ahead of Eid Al-Adha, a day when Muslims the world over slaughter animals and feed the poor to seek God's forgiveness. The tunnels also ferry people who cannot leave or enter Gaza, but no one may smuggle arms or drugs through the tunnels.
After travelling through the underground tunnel, the frightened cattle is sold, making a heavy profit for those who risk their lives in the dangerous tunnels. Palestinian officials say at least 45 workers have died this year because of cave-ins.
Hamas, which seized control of Gaza in 2007, see the tunnels as an act of defiance against Israel. They, therefore, endorse them and it is even claimed that taxes are imposed upon the underground routes.
